Activities

We combine academic depth with practical applicability. Our services respond to the specific challenges faced by Slovak institutions, as defined by the Cyber Security Act, the European NIS2 Directive, the GDPR, and other regulatory frameworks.
The Competence Centre provides a comprehensive portfolio of services designed to address the real-world needs of Slovak institutions. We bridge academic rigour with practical usability, ranging from one-off consultations on specific issues to long-term partnerships in building security teams and capabilities. Our services are available to public administration authorities, local governments, state institutions, educational organisations, and the wider professional public.
Specialised courses
We offer comprehensive sixty-hour cyber and information security courses for the public administration, tailored to the varying baseline proficiency levels of participants. Each course follows a semester-based model, combining distance and contact learning, and culminates in certification upon the successful defence of a final project before an expert committee. For the advanced course for specialists, we also offer the option to pursue the industry-recognized CyberOps Associate certification.
Expert advisory for public institutions
We provide expert consultations and advisory services to public administration authorities on the implementation of security measures, the drafting of internal policies, and the practical application of legislative requirements. We collaborate closely with the government CSIRT unit, a part of which is physically housed on the TUKE premises, and we provide assistance to MIRRI in drafting, revising, and commenting on legislation, recommendations, and methodologies.

Academic Conferences and Public Engagement Events
We organise and co-organise expert conferences, seminars, workshops, and webinars that bring together the Slovak cyber security community. Four times a year, we hold public workshops focused on building awareness of digital threats. We actively participate in major expert events such as ICETA, EPI Cyber Security, and Qubit.
How to initiate a collaboration
If you are interested in any of our services, please contact us by email or via the contact form. As a first step, we will jointly identify your needs and propose the most suitable form of collaboration. The initial consultation on your project idea is entirely non-binding and free of charge.
