Laboratory Facilities

The expert activities of the Cybersecurity Competence Centre are built upon four specialised laboratories at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of TUKE. Each laboratory possesses its own long-standing specialisation, a dedicated team of experienced research and teaching staff, and specific material and technical equipment. Together, however, they form a comprehensive ecosystem that covers the full breadth of cyber and information security issues.
These laboratories facilitate the teaching of full-time students, host practical exercises for participants in our public administration courses, and drive both applied research and expert consultations for industry partners. This is achieved thanks to the interconnection of diverse specialisations – ranging from parallel systems architecture, through network technologies and information systems, to multimedia telecommunications.
Further information regarding the individual laboratories, their staffing, and technical equipment can be found below.
Laboratory of Computer Architectures and Security
The laboratory focuses on selected aspects of cybersecurity in the context of parallel and distributed systems.
Computer Networks Laboratory at the Department of Computers and Informatics
For more than twenty years, it has served as the coordinating centre for the Cisco Networking Academy Programme in Slovakia.
Information Systems Laboratory
The laboratory focuses on the security of information systems and artificial intelligence applications.
Computer Networks Laboratory at the Department of Electronics and Multimedia Telecommunications
It provides facilities for simulating the detection and prevention of network attacks, utilising IDS systems, ASA firewalls, and specialised tools for locating attackers within wireless networks.
