We bring together academic expertise and public administration in building a safer digital Slovakia.
The Cyber Security Competence Centre (CCC) at the Technical University of Košice was established as a systematic response to the growing cyber threats faced by public administration institutions. We operate as a modern educational and research facility, combining more than two decades of academic experience in computer networks, cryptography, and information systems security with the current needs of the state, local governments, schools, and the wider professional public. Our activities range from accredited training and expert consultancy to applied research and the building of strategic international partnerships.
“Security is not a luxury. It is the foundation of trust in the digital world.”
Cyber threats have long stopped asking whether we are prepared for them. Slovakia needs experts who understand these threats, know how to prevent them, and know how to resolve them. It also requires institutions that are capable of protecting citizens' data in the manner expected of them. This is precisely why the Cyber Security Competence Centre was established at the Technical University of Košice. We combine academic know-how, long-standing research experience, and state-of-the-art laboratories with the real-world needs of public administration. We believe that an educated person is the best first line of defence, and an educated institution is the second.
In today’s digital age, public administration information systems are constantly exposed to a diverse range of cyber threats that can compromise sensitive citizens' data, disrupt the delivery of critical services, and undermine trust in the state's digital operations. Slovakia is in need of trained experts who understand these threats, know how to prevent them, and can respond professionally when an incident does occur. Furthermore, it requires institutions capable of protecting citizens' data to a degree that meets current technological and regulatory demands.
